Mmmmm….so a lot of blogs i’m reading at the moment are going on and on about dating. Opinions and comments everywhere. I have my thoughts and commented on one or two blogs, but it never seems to come out right.
So…I want to know your thoughts on dating?
A few questions to guide you:
1. What is dating?
2. Should we date for the purpose of marriage?
3. What boundaries (if any) should we set?
4. Christians and non-christians dating?

Hi Karlien
I don’t specifically have an ‘objecttive’ opinion…only subjective based on personal experience.
1) For me dating is 2 individuals who think they might be compatible who go out together for supper or whatever and try to get to know one another. I suppose married couples could also go on dates together. Anyway, the aim is never friendship. I think there has to be an element of attraction or whatever.
2) I very rarely go on a date if I don’t think the person has ANY potential i.t.o. a relationship. Maybe not marriage as yet. I guess if you refer to dating as in Afrikaans “ons gaan uit”, then I would not date an individual if I did not think I could marry them.
3)I don’t have boundaries that are set in stone. It depends on the circumstances and the person etc. But yes, I always do have boundaries in place. They just differ.
4) From personal experience, The Christian non-Christian thing does not work. But I’m open to discussion.
thanks Anrie, love it!
